🔴 Super curvy Axe Handle-making. Norwegian Broad Bearded Axe (ny laftebileskaft)

I need a new axe handle for my laftebile (Norwegian broad axe). I prefer the Telemark style handle and make one out of ash wood. This is the forth of fifth handle to be made for this axe. I use ash because it is better for the hands than hickory and I also like the growth rings perpendicular to the blade for even better shock absorption. This inherent weakness results in the handle braking from time to time. I use the natural bend of the wood to make it as strong as I can and still have the feel I am after.
