Painted by the Evening… Sunset tonight at Oxford Basin in the marina felt like the world gently exhaled. The sky softened into warm colors, and the water turned into a mirror for the palm trees lining the basin. Their reflections stretched across the surface like quiet brushstrokes, painting peace into the evening. The little ducks were splish splashing and taking baths, zooming around as if they were playing tag with the light. They were so cute and full of energy, completely in the moment and loving every ripple they made. Watching them made me smile without even trying. Seagulls were headed west, gliding smoothly toward the horizon. I also spotted a little yellow bird along the way, like a tiny spark of sunshine reminding me to pay attention. It’s funny how the smallest details can feel like the biggest gifts when you slow down enough to see them. Above it all, the beautiful moon was shining, quietly watching over the basin. The air felt peaceful, and the whole scene seemed to say, “Stay here a little longer.” Moments like this remind me how much comfort there is in simple things—water, birds, reflections, and light. Tonight was one of those evenings where nothing needed to be more than what it already was. Just a sunset, some happy ducks, and a moon rising gently into the sky. And somehow, that was everything. Capturing beauty, sharing light. —April Evening Gratitude Thought: Tonight, I am grateful for peaceful water, playful ducks, westbound seagulls, and palm tree reflections. For a yellow bird surprise and a moon that reminds me to slow down and breathe
