From the Beginning: an Interpretive Short (APN Film Festival)

Our project was to create a "film" accordingly to the following conditions: 1. No direct dialogue. 2. At least one continuous minute where the camera follows the character. 3. At least 30 seconds of dancing. 4. At least one continuous minute where the camera does not move. 5. A soundtrack consisting of pre-80s music. So my partner and I came up with the idea of an interpretive film. It will be however you would want to believe it is--no questions asked. After about a day and a half of shooting (with practically no equipment other than a cheap camera) and six hours of editing, this is what resulted. I'm pretty sure if we actually invested in this project, it would have turned out a lot more like how I saw it in my mind. But this will do, and we feel accomplished. It was a fun project. Enjoy!
