I've already done a history on this guitar, but many asked for sound samples, so here's an hour of intense jamming on my Mann, les paul copy. It hasn't been played since 1988. I got it when I was 13, in 1975 and played it for a million hours until I knew every guitar solo in existence. By 1988, the frets were almost gone, and I finally bought a new guitar. I could never sell my first electric so it sat in storage until this week when I decided to do a video on it. I'm also wearing my shatnershaipiece shirt which you buy on redbubble. Some more history on this guitar. Mann was the name they used until they were eventually sued by Gibson in 1977 for copying the les paul too closely. Mann became Ibanez in the late 70's. Pre lawsuit guitars like mine with 'les paul diamond headstock' are much more sought after than post lawsuit versions after 1977. When I first hooked it up, there was no sound. I had to spray oil the input jack and the pickup switch and then it worked again. So how does it feel after all these years. Well, it's definitely heavy. The neck is a short scale and very thin, which was perfect for my kid hands back in 1975. Very hard to bend strings and get any decent vibrato as the frets are almost gone. It also goes out of tune easily. After playing a Parker for 15 years, it was a bit of adjustment to get comfortable with it again, but I think I did a good job on these jams. 1.
