PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR Episode 77 - Season 3 "2018 Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout" Recorded November 17, 2018 For release on November 22, 2018 Become a patron at / prodigybowlerstour ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a tradition that dates back to before PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR even existed, as the kids in the Roswell Varsity and Roswell Junior Varsity leagues at Brunswick Zone Roswell go "bowling for turkeys," and we don't mean three strikes in a row (although that might be helpful). It’s our annual “Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout,” and today they're bowling for actual, real deal frozen turkeys. The winners each receive a big frozen Butterball Premium turkey, the 2nd place finishers each get a smaller frozen "Li'l Butterball" turkey, the 3rd place finishers each receive a frozen Butterball turkey breast, and our 4th place finishers each receive a tiny little Prospect Farms Cornish Hen. Our bowlers used their league scores as their qualifying round, with the top 4 from each league advancing. We paired them up for the Championship Round, where they bowl a modified Scotch Doubles format, a slight variation on the alternate shot format, with the two players taking turns throwing the first ball in each frame -- one player throwing the first ball in the odd numbered frames and their partner throwing the first ball in the even numbered frames. This is one of the rare handicap events we cover on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR, and one of the best things about our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout is that it tends to produce a cast of bowlers that includes a few kids that our viewers don't ordinarily get to see. And today's contest is no exception. The field today ranges from a 200+ average bowler to one whose average is 57. They all have a chance to win. As always, we welcome your comments, but insist that you keep your critiques positive. The kids aren't the only ones who read this board; their parents do, too. And remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to "Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowling." So keep your comments helpful, not hurtful, and we'll be fine. But if all you have to offer is to insult, injure or diss any of our bowlers, your comment will be removed.
