Dayara Bugyal trek from Barsu Village in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

Dayara bugyal is a vast grassland on top of a mountain near Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Uttarkashi is a 4 hour drive from Dehradun and 3 hours from Rishikesh. Dayara bugyal is a trek of around 7 km. There are 2 ways used by the trekkers to climb to the top. one via Raithal village and Other via Barsu. Raithal village has more options to stay overnight. This makes it a more popular route than Barsu. But the route via Barsu is much more beautiful. We had been staying at Barsu village for a few days and had plans to visit gartang gali. But due to the heavy rainfall, the roads got damaged and we had to cancel our plan. We then decided to trek to Dayara bugyal on our last day. Dayara bugyal is a beautiful meadow on top of a hill. It is so vast that the beauty of this meadow can hardly be described in words. You even get the view of snow covered Himalayan peaks from the top. We reached the top in 4 hours and it took us around 3 hours to descend.
