Speedrun at KIOF 2025 – the main hunting and fishing exhibition in Kazakhstan (Almaty, Atakent). We ran through the exposition and collected everything for hunting and fishing: designer knives, optics, spearfishing equipment, safari tours and much more. Spinning rods, fishing rods and even radio-controlled boats for groundbait are on sale - those who did not play enough as children will appreciate it! 🔭 Optics and weapons: we test premium hunting optics - Swarovski scopes and binoculars. Sergey from the spearfishing club (podvohi.kz) tells in detail what a beginner needs for spearfishing. We analyze the equipment point by point and learn where to start spearfishing: you need a wetsuit (5 mm or 7 mm – how to choose a wetsuit for spearfishing for a beginner depends on the water temperature). Thicker neoprene will allow you to hunt in cold water longer without freezing. A crossbow (a gun with rubber bands) is also a great choice, but is suitable for open water bodies without vegetation (for example, sea hunting in the Caspian Sea or the ocean): a crossbow has a quieter and longer shot. 🤔 The expert explains the nuances: the length of the gun affects the strength of the fight (the longer the barrel, the greater the acceleration of the harpoon - the laws of physics). By loading the pneumatic gun with more air, you can compensate for the length, but the long rod of the crossbow also increases the range. Also, the crossbow takes longer to reload. In the end: for our conditions, the pneumatic gun rules, and for the sea, we take a large crossbow.
