When I was 10 going on 11 I was moved from my homeland to another country. My parent remarried and this caused the move, I was devastated but could not speak of my sadness. A small part of me was excited being that young child, seeing through those eyes it did feel like one huge adventure. I clung to that feeling hoping it would get me through. I was leaving my family behind and my friends. Our family home, the only one I had known since birth and saying goodbye to our village. The country we were moving to was so very different to ours. The land completely flat, no hills, no valleys and the area we moved to no woods or forests to speak of.....not what I was used to. As soon as we got there I was homesick, for my family and for my country. Finding solace in my daily walks with our little dog, loosing myself in my own mind and memories of my homeland. I planned to move back when I was old enough and I did actually at one point get back. However the universe had other plans for me and for one reason or the other I could not stay. When I returned to my adopted country life happened and now there is no way back..., not permanently that is. Of course I can visit but to live, retire, eventually rest my weary bones....alas that shall never come to pass..., only a miracle could help me return back to my beloved homeland.
