The story of the appearance of Lord Jagannatha ~ Lord of the Universe. Lord Jagannatha appeared at Puri in the state of Orissa in eastern india thousands of years ago. Every year The deities of Lord Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Lord Baladeva are placed on huge chariots called Raths and processed from the Jagannatha Temple to the Gundica Temple, an ancient ceremonial route. This Rathayatra Festival as it is known has been popularised throughout the world by His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The Rathayatra Festival can be seen in many major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, to name a few. The accompanying bhajan Jagannathastakam, followed by Jaya Jaya Jagannatha are performed by His Grace Swarupa Damodar Prabhu.
