This tutorial was shared with my Patreon in February 2018. Learning to weft natural fibers increases the repertoire of styles and textures you can use on your waldorf-style doll. This is a lengthy process, but not extremely technical, just time-consuming. You will cough up a few locks and be covered in "hair" but that's half the fun. Isn't it? If you would like to see a simplified version (the way I was doing it before I decided to really tackle the alpaca so it shed less) of this tutorial, you can visit this post: http://www.figandme.com/blog/how-to-m... If you would like a more thorough and extensive PDF with step-by-step photos on how to prep the fiber for sewing, weft it, clean it, sew it to the doll and all that jazz, with links to suppliers for beautiful natural locks, then you can visit my shop here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/63192282... #naturalfiberartdoll #dollmaking #dollhair DISCLAIMER: this type of hairstyle is not suitable for children's dolls in my opinion. Little kids like to play with the hair constantly, they wrap their fingers around it, they want to brush it to oblivion...and that's exactly what will happen to the alpaca: it will turn into a matted mess. This is a hairstyle suitable for doll for very gentle hands, for older kiddos or for adult doll collectors. Any questions feel free to post in the comments. I am happy to help, though it might take me a little while to get back to you.
