The organizers of Holding Space: Am I Hawaiian Enough? join Moana Nui Podcast to discuss the initial virtual gathering—a thoughtfully crafted, support-group-style space for Hawaiians raised on the continent to talk about identity, belonging, and the tender question of being “Hawaiian enough.” Co-designed with somatic coach Anela Barboza of Ulele Coaching, psychotherapist Kamakanoe Ornellas of Mana Counseling, and six other volunteers—all Hawaiians raised on the continent—the eight-month design process resulted in a heartfelt, emotionally grounded space that opens the door for future gatherings exploring different facets of the diaspora experience. In this episode, the team shares how the space was created, what they learned, and why holding space for diaspora experiences matters now more than ever. Join us LIVE to engage in the conversation with the Hawaiian Diaspora's and Holding Space's team on Thursday, December 18th at 8:30pm on YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and Facebook.
