Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in E Minor RV 278, complete. 8K video from our March 2024 concert. Augusta McKay Lodge, baroque violin. Vivaldi's mature style is evident in this concerto from circa 1730 which is characterized by a wide range of textures and dynamics. Compact and fluent, the solo violin is the leader throughout with the ripieno providing a complex and layered rhythmic backdrop. The only source is the composer's holograph Turin manuscript, which means that the concerto was not widely known, and possibly a commission, but, nonetheless, this is an exceptionally fine composition. This work presented here for the first time in 8K UHD video.
