**As a reminder, why not test your carbon monoxide detector & smoke alarms now.** Removing rust from a wood burning stove & polishing with Zebraline black grate polish. Disclaimer: This video was created as a basic guide only. I am not responsible for any injury, damage or costs should you attempt this work yourself. Consult the owner's manual or manufacturer's website before commencing work. Ensure the stove is cold & not lit. Wear protective gloves, safety glasses & dust mask where necessary. Use a wire brush to remove rust. You can use a power tool if you wish but we found that it created to much dust. Some people also use WD40 to keep the dust down but I have not tried this myself. Vacuum &/or wipe stove clean. Use a suitable black grate polish. We used 'Zebraline' in this video. Apply polish with a cloth. After the polish has dried use a brush & then a soft cloth to finish off. Allow to dry & more polish can be applied later if necessary. Warning! Some polishes may produce fumes when the stove is first lit. I made a similar video using white vinegar to remove the rust.
