The constitution was implemented in India on 26 January 1950, but it had already been ratified. On 26 November 1949, two months before the constitution came into force, the Constituent Assembly finally accepted the constitution after several rounds of discussions and amendments. That is why November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day. Constitution Day is celebrated to make the people of the country aware about the Constitution. It was decided to celebrate Constitution Day so that every citizen of the country should know about the constitutional values. On this day the country had accepted the Constitution, due to which the Ministry of Social Justice took a decision on 19 November 2015 that the country would celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day.
