Many different organizations came together to give 12 Bay Area foster kids the opportunity to learn about college, engineering, and building things with their hands. Each kid got to build their own portable speaker and take it home with them! **Trash Amps (www.trashamps.com) provided the Speaker Kits and instructions. **TechShop San Jose (http://www.techshop.ws/ts_sanjose.html) provided the workspace and soldering equipment. **Help One Child (http://helponechild.org/) recruited the foster kids and a few volunteers for the Speaker Building Workshop. **Garden City Church (http://www.gardencitysv.com/) was the source for the majority of the volunteers.
