San Salvador, El Salvador: A City of New Beginnings - My First Time Visiting

Hello, and welcome to the first video of my month-long trip to Central America. First up is visiting El Salvador, specifically San Salvador, for this video. After years of being off-limits due to violence, the country is now safe for tourists to visit. When you land in a country, you fly into the capital city, and El Salvador is no different. Capital cities sometimes have a bad reputation, but San Salvador is a must! I booked a flight from Vancouver to San Salvador via San Francisco and spent three nights there to explore. In this video, I will showcase the two walking tours I participated in; please see more details below. You will see me tucking into pupusas and drinking some great coffee. To get a feel for the city, I wanted to walk everywhere as much as possible, so there are many shots of it, including wonderful parks, historic buildings, squares, new constructions, cathedrals, markets, and amazing lights in the evening. I loved engaging with local guides like Dave and Carlos on the walking tours, which revealed the city's rich history and community spirit. I reflected on the positive changes in El Salvador and encouraged others to visit this emerging travel destination. This was only the start of my trip, as I headed off to Suchitoto afterwards.
