Azathioprine (Immuran) for Crohns Disease | My Experience

I take Azathioprine or Immuran for my Crohns disease. This is my experience with this treatment for Crohns. So what is Azathioprine, well it’s an immunosuppressant drug that aims to lower your immune system which in turn, aims to calm the inflammation throughout the body. I obviously take it to treat Crohns disease, but it’s also used for Psoriasis and Eczema as they’re also classified as autoimmune diseases. I will be talking about Azathioprine or Immuran as it's commercially known as a treatment for Crohns disease. I’ve been taking this medication for over a year now, so I thought I would share my thoughts on it and any side effects to hopefully give you some first-hand information if you are currently on it or about to start taking it as a treatment. Crohns disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines, especially the colon and ileum, associated with ulcers and fistulae - according to the Oxford dictionary.
