Alykes Beach by drone, Zakynthos | GREECE 🇬🇷

Alykes is a former municipality on the island of Zakynthos, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Zakynthos, of which it is a municipal unit. It is situated along the northeastern coast of the island, about 10 km northwest of Zakynthos (city). It has a land area of 42.881 km2 and a population of 5,203 (2011 census). The seat of the municipality was in Katastari (pop. 1,378). The famous golden sandy beach of Alykes is located in the North East coast of Zakynthos and has been awarded the blue flag for cleanliness. It is ideal for families with small children as the sand shelves gently into the Ionian Sea. Due to the shallow waters around the coastline you can safely paddle a fair distance in the warm clear waters. Watersports and excursions are available from Golden Dolphin watersports which is located by the jetty.
