Growing orchids indoor : Brassavola Cattleya Laeliocattleya Rhyncolaeliocattleya Oncidium Phalaenopsis Maxillara Aliceara Dendrobium Cycnodes Cycnoches Neofinetias Vanda Perreirara ⚡Barrina T5 growing led lights (2 sticks of 3feets barrina lights per shelf) : from 7am until 9pm in summertime (14h of light/day), from 7.30am until 8.30pm in spring and fall (13h of light/day), from 8am until 8pm in winter (12h of light/day). 🌡️Indoor Temperature : °°°Spring & Summertime : daytime is 23/25°C, nightime is 20/23°C °°°Fall & Winter : daytime is 22/23°C, nightime is 19/20°C 💦Indoor humidity 50 to 55% year around 🚿Watering : tap water (not so hard : 140 to 200ppm) To give you an idea, I give with my water can around 40ml of water for a 3" pot, maybe 50/60ml of water for a 4" pot and more like 70 to 80ml of water for a 5 or 6" pot. For most of my orchids it is enough for 1 week (except oncidiums needs twice a week) and if I water more it starts rotting because my indoor humidity is high and no air flow like outdoor to dry the pot quicker. °°°True wet/dry cycle so usually 1x/week for Cattleyas, Brassavolas, Dendrobiums & Phalaenopsis (no matter the plastic pot size, the less there is roots the smaller is the pot), usually every 5 days for Neofinetias in 4" clay pot °°°Approching dryness so usually 2x/week for Oncidiums, Maxillara & Encyclias °°°Rootless or almost rootless orchids : no regular watering at all but thin top layer of sphagnum moss that I spray every morning, it dries overnight, giving it really quick wet/dry cycles 🏺Potting Mix : °°°Cattleyas, Brassavolas, Dendrobiums : thin bottom layer of new zealand sphagnum moss + 75% big size (18to25mm) orchiata bark with 25% chopped sphagnum moss + thin top layer of sphagnum moss in orchid plastic pots °°°Oncidiums, Aliceara, Maxillara, Encyclia : thin bottom layer of new zealand sphagnum moss + 75% small size (6to9mm) orchiata bark with 25% chopped sphagnum moss (+ thin top layer of sphagnum moss if the orchid lacks of roots) in orchid plastic pots °°°Phalaenopsis : pure new zealand sphagnum moss in orchid plastic pots °°°Neofinetias : 100% new zealand sphagnum moss in clay pot 🍌Fertilization : 5 to 10 beads (depending the size of the pot) of slow release fertilizer 13-11-11 in each pot + weakly weekly fertilization routine for 3 weeks followed by 1 week of only water&superthrive : °°°From beginning of April until end of October (or until summer temperature are over and temperatures drop below 15°C) : ➡️For all orchids (except almost rootless orchids & orchids with new growth almost mature & orchids in spike & blooming orchids), for 1 gallon of water : 1/2 tsp of 7-9-5 fertilizer + 1/2 tsp of CalMag + 6 drops of Superthrive ➡️For orchids with new growth almost mature & orchids in spike & blooming orchids, for 1 gallon of water : 1/2 tsp of 3-12-6 bloom booster fertilizer + 1/2 tsp of CalMag + no superthrive at all (superthrive might switch the focus on roots instead of blooms) ➡️For orchids lacking roots, for 1 gallon of water : 1/4 tsp of 7-9-5 fertilizer + 1/4 tsp of CalMag + 1/4 tsp of superthrive °°°From beginning of November until end of March : ➡️For all orchids (except almost rootless orchids & orchids with new growth almost mature & orchids in spike & blooming orchids), for 1 gallon of water : 1/4 tsp of 7-9-5 fertilizer + 1/4 tsp of CalMag + 6 drops of Superthrive ➡️For orchids with new growth almost mature & orchids in spike & blooming orchids, for 1 gallon of water : 1/2 tsp of 3-12-6 bloom booster fertilizer + 1/2 tsp of CalMag + no superthrive at all (superthrive might switch the focus on roots instead of blooms) ➡️For orchids lacking roots, for 1 gallon of water : 1/4 tsp of 7-9-5 fertilizer + 1/4 tsp of CalMag + 1/4 tsp of superthrive ➡️For orchids in dormancy (dendrobiums, catasetum, cycnoches) : no fertilizer at all
