This video shows the final assembly of our new to us Potain MDT 98 Tower Crane. This crane began its life at Local 324's Training School in Michigan. After purchasing it from our Michigan counter parts, the crane was shipped here to Maryland. Thanks to the Help of United Crane And Rigging, the crane was overhauled, worn parts beyond repair were replaced, and new improvements were made like the addition of air conditioning. Thanks to the Help of the apprentices, all surfaces of the crane were sanded down and re-painted Safety Red. After all repairs were made, a new concrete base was constructed, and wire ran to power the crane. An again thanks to the help of United Crane and Rigging as they preformed the final assembly and erection with our Link-belt 218 110 Ton crawler crane with instructor Nick Herbert at the controls. Thanks to All our Members At United Crane, and all Apprentices for all their hard work on this awesome piece of machinery! This crane will serve many members and new Apprentices in training for their CCO in the future. Congratulations to the membership of Local 37 on this new mile stone!
