Certainly, if you’re like most surgeons, you feel the pull of the relentless pursuit of professional success. Especially when comparing yourself to your colleagues. Specifically, are they doing better than you? How can that be? In other words, what am I missing? Indeed, those are the questions that can keep you up at night or keep you second-guessing yourself. Especially when you don't know the art of work and life balance. But eventually, hopefully, you find your stride. In the same fashion, settling in by striking a balance between having a successful career and maintaining a happy home life. Of course, that includes freedom to enjoy other interests. This is key to learning the art of work and life balance. Overall, this week's video is an interview I did with Dr. John Martin. Truly, he knows about the art of 'work and life balance'. Markedly, he's a facial plastic surgeon in private practice in Coral Gables, FL for the past 36 years. Namely, Dr. Martin specializes in eye, face and neck rejuvenation. What's more, all procedures are done in-house under local anesthesia. In particular, Dr. Martin has found a wonderful balance between surgery and making time for his other interests.
