We surprised our family and friends when they saw we had twins! We knew our family and friends would be overwhelmed with joy when they realized there were TWO little additions to our family, so we decided to capture their reactions. See cute twin pics here :)   / ruthshrauner     / ruth.shrauner   We had shared our struggle with infertility over the past few years, and in the process gave up some of the surprises that come with telling your family and friends that we were finally pregnant. So we decided to keep it a secret that we transferred two embryos. We knew that even if you transfer two, nothing is guaranteed. We decided to keep the gender(s) a secret too, so our family and friends used the embryo’s name "E5" until they learned if it was a boy or girl. What they didn’t know was that embryo "A1" was in there too :). They thought they were coming to see if we had a baby boy or girl, but are shocked when they realize we had both! We couldn’t be more thankful for Jack and Izzy. One in eight couples deals with infertility in some form, and it is hard to express the pain of not being able to start a family. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support that I received after sharing my journey. There are so many amazing men and women who have or are fighting for a family and you wouldn’t even know it. To those men and women, stay strong and don’t lose hope. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
