TurboDirect S.A were asked to show how we conduct a hybrid upgrade to a turbocharger - we chose a popular upgrade path in South Africa which is the Toyota land cruiser 70/79 series 4.5D V8 single turbo. The turbo is a Garrett unit which is VNT controlled by a pneumatic actuator. We show you every step of the way how we build a Hybrid turbo. We use compressor designs that are created by Chris Kambouris himself. The machining of the compressor wheels are done in-house and so is the entire hybrid build process from start to finish. No hand tools are used in any of the engineering or critical processes, everything is CNC controlled for 100% repeatable results and un-matched accuracy.
