My Focus has a burning smell while driving. It's really bad when stopped with the engine running. After a visual inspection under the hood, there are signs the valve cover gasket is leaking. I was kind of all over the place when doing this job so the sequence of events is weird. It should still give you a good idea what you need to do for your car. Tools I used: 1/4 Ratchet 3/8 Ratchet 1/4 Extension 8mm Deep socket 13mm socket 10mm Deep socket Large flathead screwdriver (you might not need this but I did) Small flathead screwdriver Metal pick Painters tape and marker (optional)
