11-01-2025 Fort Worth, TX - FWFD engine 14 severely damaged after drunk driver crashes into it

24 year old arrested after crashing into FWFD's Engine 14 on 287 24 year old Zachary Carlisle of Fort Worth was arrested Saturday morning after be8ng treated for minor injuries sustained in a crash with Engine 14. Fort Worth FD's Kyle Clay tells me that Engine 14 was reported searching for another MVA and had gotten available when they found a single vehicle MVA on northbound 287, just north of Mitchell. The disabled vehicle was in the fast lane and Engine 14 blocked that lane to protect the scene. Luckily, all fire personnel had exited the fire engine when it was struck on the officer’s side by a pickup truck. The two occupants of the pickup required extrication and were transported to JPS hospital. The crash left Carlisles 22 year old female passenger with critical injuries. Carlisle has since been charged with Intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, a 3rd Degree felony in Texas. No fire fighters where injured in the accident.
