An animal communicator and caretaker, Gutman spent 12 tense days guiding her canine companions through the chaos with empathy and calm. "I can be a bit alert, from the alarms or from what is going to come, but it's not making them to be nervous because I'm not trying to hide it," 39-year-old Gutman said. "I'm actually saying to them telepathically, energetically - OK, things happen now, it can be scary, but we are together, we can hold it now together." Gutman says she uses telepathic and energetic techniques to reassure her animals, and turn each shelter visit into a comforting routine.
