DISCUSSION: SA women fall prey to Gender-Based Violence crimes

The Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities has called for the robust implementation of the government's strategic plan to fight gender-based violence. The committee says the commission for gender equality has visited and monitored 50 police stations across the country during the first quarter of the year. They found that the availability of rape kits at certain police stations is still a problem.
