ROYAL VISIT Preparations are underway for a potential royal visit from King Charles and Queen Camilla later this year. But where to take them? Well, that's something the government is trying to figure out. As with any visitors there are a few things to consider. First, the trip has to actually happen. At the moment, it's all a bit up in the air because of King Charles's cancer diagnosis and it will depend on how his health is going later in the year to see if the trip even goes ahead at all. But if it does, the government needs a royal itinerary ready for our royal guests. So it's just started talks with the states and territories on what they think the trip should look like. The trip would be his 16th official visit to Australia, but his first as King. META NEWS Aussie media companies are gearing up for a battle with Meta. The company, which owns Facebook and Instagram, says it's ditching a massive deal which makes the platform pay for news content hosted on its platforms. It says news isn't a priority for Facebook users, and it wants to spend its money on different things. But that's really bad news for Aussie media companies who will now miss out on up to $70 million a year from the social media giant. So they're looking at their options to try to find a solution. NRL The NRL season kicked off this weekend in Las Vegas. It first time premiership games have ever been played on US soil in an effort to crack the US market and it was pretty successful. More than 40,000 people packed Allegiant Stadium to watch the Sydney Roosters beat the Brisbane Broncos 20-10. Meanwhile the Manly Sea Eagles smash the South Sydney Rabbitohs 36-24. CRICKET The Aussies have won their first test against New Zealand in the Trans-Tasman series. Nathan Lyon and Cameron Green were absolute superstars leading the team to a 172-run victory. The teams will meet again on Friday for the final test of the series. LEBRON RECORD LeBron James has another record to add to his resume.
