Hi everyone! On January the 6th most train from/to Amsterdam were cancelled because of major disruptions at Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam Zuid and Weesp. But we got to drive one of the few trains that were running in the area. This causes a huge crowd to enter the train during the ride. Our train manager can't even board the train anymore. I upgraded some visuals in the video. Let me know your opinion! :D 0:00 Amsterdam Centraal On one side of the station we had a gas leak causing all switch warming to fail. On the other side of the station ProRail decided to not turn on the switch heating because of construction works. Big mistake causing many cancellations and delays for days. We depart with a 5 minute delay because our train arrived late from the Uitgeest direction. Let's see what we can do about this. It's around 0 degrees Celsius. Which is freezing point for those who only know Fahrenheit. 2:35 Dijksgracht West (Explaining Dirty Windshield) Don't worry. The sun and blue skies will show up after Amsterdam. When driving past the Dijksgracht you can see the new fly-over/dive-under from a new perspective. 4:59 Amsterdam Muiderpoort I fast forwarded most of the stops. But only when there's nothing to see. Don't worry. If there's something to see, you'll get to see it in real time if you like. 7:41 Amsterdam Amstel 9:12 Spaklerweg (M) 10:00 Van der Madeweg (M) 10:25 Duivendrecht On the lower level of the station the line Diemen Zuid - Amsterdam Zuid can be found. 11:47 Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA We get to drive a different route through the station because of the winter train schedule. So we have to slow down until there's a fix for this. Fixes often take a lot of time due to shortage on railway staff these days. ProRail has to prioritize all issues. The more delays it causes, the higher the priority for fixing the temp speed limit. 29:16 Harmelen (Connection) 31:43 Woerden Enjoy that intercity passing by! Even though it causes a small delay for us because it's a few minutes behind schedule. 35:35 Two Province Borders! In the few minutes after this we get to pass the border two times right after each other. Also there's a camera setup checking the outside systems of the train for early detection of defects. 41:01 Gouda Goverwelle 44:54 Gouda (Busy Train - Train Manager Can't Enter Train) Contacting the train dispatcher because of the red light. It appears the train ahead was scanning the tracks because the driver before that reported something. But now we get the green light again! All is fine. Right after this my train manager contacts me. The train is too busy and he will get in the train via the middle cabin doors after closing the passenger doors. He let's me know via transceiver when he's inside before we are allowed to depart.
