It looked like soft snow... until I tried to turn. ⛸️ We returned to Alpental on February 8, 2026, hoping for better conditions than last week. At first glance, the cover looked decent! But we quickly realized that the "snow" was actually a solid sheet of ice, formed by freezing rain the day before. The usually friendly blue run, Debbie’s Gold, was transformed into a narrow, high-consequence skating rink. Our first lap was terrifying—we had zero grip and felt totally out of control.
