Despite amazing advances in cystic fibrosis care, many people with CF find themselves dealing with difficult-to-treat infections. New treatments and strategies are needed, and researchers are working harder than ever to understand how best to detect, diagnose, and treat these organisms. In this session, leading CF researchers and clinicians provide a peek behind the curtain to look at the current landscape of CF lung infections, including innovative approaches to tackle drug-resistant bacteria and the role of clinical trials in advancing these new therapies. In addition to the latest research, presenters discuss the day-to-day management of infections and the importance of proper antibiotic stewardship. Hear personal stories from Nicole Kohr, an adult with CF, highlighting why the science matters — both the progress made and challenges remaining — in this exciting area of research.
