After an entire year of creating and a stressful final month of mixing and mastering, I present to you my song, "Cirrus". Out now on spotify and all digital stores! : https://song.link/cirrus Lyrics: What's this feeling I can't define? Do we even have much time? And I'm trying not to rewind There's so much going on my mind Now we're crawling down at the fallen line Lift it up there's no such crime Just wishing we had more time Can't get you out of my mind And I'm trying not to think the worst And I'm trying not to fall Laying down, in this world of mine Trying to find, a space, a little time But I can't find, a reason to abide I'm just trying, to not lose my mind And I'm trying not to think the worst And I'm trying not to fall And I'm clinging onto the strangest words And I'm hoping there's not more What's this feeling I can't define? Do we even have much time? And I'm trying not to rewind There's so much going on my mind "Cirrus" is that indescribable feeling we've all experienced. Whether it be overthinking, forms of anxiety, uncertainty, jealousy or even being sad for no reason. Due to the decrease in social interaction and the huge amounts of time I had to myself that lockdown had brought upon, self reflection and worries came into play. It may sound like this song is rather depressing but I actually see it as the opposite, it provided myself a blanket of optimism and reassurance in those hard times, and I hope the song can do the same to you as it has done for me. Ironically enough towards the end, the song itself became a means of stress (if anyone's seen tik.. tik.. boom! you'll know) I realised I was spending way too much time on it, and I was trying to make it perfect (over 50 mixes and 10 masters). In the end I realised I could never fix everything and I had to stop myself otherwise I could be stuck mixing it for another year. (P.S. if your headphones significantly boost bass, I'm sorry.. I tried to fix it but it was too difficult to sort and so last minute) Played, recorded, mixed, and mastered by myself, but big thanks to all those that gave feedback on the song and pointed out the mistakes. Special mention to Seth Hartman for his advice and help on vocal mixing, song structure and mastering techniques. Also, to Klope for coming up with an idea for a lead synth in the instrumental.
