Jajpur College Student Protests Harassment, Threatens Extreme Action

A student at Abhimanyu Samantasinghar College in Bari, Jajpur, is staging a sit-in protest outside her college, demanding justice after being allegedly harassed by an economics professor. The student has threatened to self-immolate by setting herself on fire if she doesn't receive justice soon. She had filed a complaint with the Bari Ramchandrapur police station but claims no action has been taken. The student even pleaded with the Bari police officer for help. She stated she will now approach the Chief Minister for intervention. The accused professor, Vidyadhar Dhal, is on leave, as is the college principal. The college claims CCTV cameras were not working on the day of the incident because of a power outage.
