The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has introduced sweeping changes to strengthen passenger rights. Air travellers can now cancel or modify tickets within 48 hours of booking without extra charges, provided the journey date is more than seven days away for domestic flights and 14 days for international flights. Minor name corrections are also allowed within 24 hours of booking. Airlines have been ordered to complete all refund processes within 14 days. The move comes amid rising passenger complaints and follows high-profile refund disputes during last year's flight disruptions. Meanwhile, messaging giants WhatsApp and Google have challenged the government's new SIM binding rules through an industry body, calling them unconstitutional and beyond the powers of the telecom ministry. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Singh has clarified that the deadline of 28th February will not be pushed. From 1st March, messaging platforms must ensure user accounts remain linked to an active SIM card. #DGCA #AirTicketCancellation #PassengerRights #itwebvideos #AirlineRefund #FlightBooking #AviationNews #SIMBinding #WhatsApp #Google #TelecomRegulations #MessagingApps #CyberFraud #DigitalIndia #TelecomMinistry #JyotiradityaSingh #AirTravelIndia #ConsumerRights #IndiaAviation #OTTRegulations #TelegramIndia #SignalApp #AirlineIndustry #TravelNews #IndiaNews #CurrentAffairs Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
