This is a playthrough using Kunimitsu in the Arcade version of Tekken 2 version B. Read on below for more information... Kunimitsu is the personal sub-boss for Yoshimitsu, and she is an immediate playable character in this version of the game. You can also select her through the use of a secret command/code, shown below: ===== ALTERNATE WAY TO SELECT KUNIMITSU ===== 1) After inserting your credits, hold the LP button. 2) Now press Start to go into the character select screen. 3) On the character select screen, with LP still held down, highlight Yoshimitsu and press Right, Start. If you've done it correctly, Kunimitsu will be selected. ===== ABOUT KUNIMITSU ===== As an "alternative design" to Yoshimitsu (she was once part of his Manji clan), she offers a unique contrast to the space ninja... obviously her appearance/costumes isn't as wacky as his of course. Back in Tekken 1, Kunimitsu is often mistaken as a male character due to the fact that she uses Yoshimitsu's voice and also her physical build being far more closer to a male's one. In Tekken 2, her design was drastically changed... along with her build being feminine and having a female voice. ===== GAMEPLAY ===== Gameplay-wise, she is mostly a derivative of Yoshimitsu for the most part... she does not have the sword strike or sword thrust that Yoshimitsu has (which makes sense considering her weapon). She does have moves which are unique to herself of course, with these moves being the kunai strikes as well as a Judo Throw. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- Her Stage 8 personal boss is Yoshimitsu, and vice-versa. ---- Her neutral stance animation is the same as Paul's and Yoshimitsu's ones. ---- As her stage background in Tekken 2 is called Cambodian Wetlands, it is fitting that it uses the Angkor Wat music theme ("Ancient Temple CBD") from Tekken 1. ---- Storyline-wise, her last canonical appearance is in Tekken 2 at this time of writing. ---- Due to her seemingly being a "male" character in Tekken 1, an early concept sketch of Kunimitsu depicts her as a female in a kimono with no mask on her face, with her left hand wielding the kunai. You can see this here: https://www.fightersgeneration.com/nf... This means that she was originally intended to be female character, so in that sense, Namco "corrected" this "mistake" for Tekken 2. (unless of course they changed their minds to make Kunimitsu a male instead, and then changed their minds again to make the character female) ===== ABOUT ARCADE TEKKEN 2 Ver.B ===== This is an upgrade to Ver.A that adds some new moves; refines and balances out the gameplay; as well as having a more noticeable indication of the boss characters being available for selection. It seems that in the latest and last revision D (Ver.B, revision D) of the game, all the boss characters are immediately available on the character select screen (besides CPU Kazuya of course). The input commands to select the sub-bosses from Ver.A works in this version of Ver.B. However in some earlier revisions of Ver.B, only two of the sub-bosses (Wang and Armor King) are initially available, and the sub-boss hidden input commands from Ver.A does not work. You can generally distinguish between Ver.A and Ver.B of the game by seeing what colour the winning icons (after a Round is won) under the lifebar are. If they are Red then it's Ver.A; if they are Green then it is Ver.B. Interestingly, it should also be mentioned that in the Arcade versions of Tekken 2, there is a setting in the options/operator screen that allows you to set either Baek or Jun as the regular character on the character select screen.
