A forgotten Organ-Toccata rediscovered - Piano Transcription

Hey guys, I am back with another work of mine, I just finished some days ago. This time it's something, I've beedn wanting to do for a long time: a transcription of an organ work for piano. This transcription is based on Eugène Gigout’s Toccata in B minor, one of his 10 Pièces pour orgue (   • E. Gigout - 10 Pièces pour orgue - Toccata...  . I have known this piece for several years and often returned to it—impressed by how well it is written and how strong an effect it makes in live performance. Yet despite its quality, it remains somewhat underestimated and has slipped into partial obscurity. Since I do not play the organ myself, I wanted to create a piano version to make the work accessible to a much broader audience of musicians. In shaping the transcription, I aimed to keep the spirit of the original intact while avoiding unnecessary technical extremes. Unlike the monumental Busoni-style transcriptions, this version is designed to be more approachable—challenging, but playable for advanced pianists outside the top professional sphere.
