Shooter 2007 Full Movie in 4K | Watch & Download for Free Now 🔥 Shooter is a 2007 American action thriller film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Jonathan Lemkin, based on Stephen Hunter's 1993 novel *Point of Impact*. The story follows Bob Lee Swagger (played by Mark Wahlberg), a retired Marine Scout Sniper who is framed for murder by a mercenary unit working for a private military company. The cast includes Michael Peña, Danny Glover, Kate Mara, Levon Helm, and Ned Beatty. Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura through Di Bonaventura Pictures, the film was released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on March 23, 2007. While receiving mixed reviews, it grossed $95.7 million against a production budget of $61 million. Plot Summary Gunnery Sergeant Bob Lee Swagger, a Force Recon Marine Scout Sniper, and his spotter, Donnie Fenn, are on a mission in Ethiopia, providing overwatch for a U.S. military operation. The mission succeeds, but their position is attacked by enemy forces using helicopters. The CIA officer overseeing the operation disavows them, leaving the duo stranded. Fenn is killed during the attack. Three years later, Swagger lives in isolation in the Wind River Range, Wyoming. He is approached by Colonel Isaac Johnson, who asks for his expertise in preventing a potential assassination attempt on the President. Reluctantly, Swagger agrees to assess the situation and identifies Philadelphia as the most likely location for the attack. On the day of the event, Swagger realizes he has been set up when a shot is fired, killing Ethiopian Archbishop Desmond Mutumbo instead of the President. A police officer on Johnson's payroll shoots Swagger, but he survives, disables rookie FBI Agent Nick Memphis, and escapes. Swagger becomes the target of a nationwide manhunt after fabricated evidence, including his personal sniper rifle, is presented to the media. Memphis, doubting the official narrative, begins his own investigation. Swagger seeks refuge with Sarah Fenn, Donnie's widow, who helps him recover from his injuries. Together, they provide information to Memphis, who digs deeper into Johnson's operations. Johnson, realizing Memphis is a threat, orders his men to eliminate him. Swagger intervenes, saving Memphis and enlisting his help to take down Johnson. The investigation leads Swagger and Memphis to Tennessee, where they meet firearms expert Mr. Rate. Rate explains the technique of "paper patching" bullets, pointing to a Serbian sniper, Mikhaylo Sczerbiak, as the likely shooter. Swagger deduces that he was manipulated into scouting locations for Sczerbiak, who carried out the assassination. Swagger and Memphis confront Sczerbiak at his estate in Virginia. Sczerbiak reveals that Johnson and Senator Charles Meachum orchestrated the plot to protect oil conglomerates profiting from exploitation in developing nations. Sczerbiak, under Johnson's orders, assassinated Mutumbo to prevent exposure of their war crimes, which included a massacre on the Eritrea-Ethiopia border. Before committing suicide, Sczerbiak informs Swagger that Sarah has been abducted. Swagger and Memphis fight their way out, armed with a recorded confession, and plan a final confrontation with Johnson and Meachum. In Montana, Swagger lures Johnson, Meachum, and their men to a snowy mountaintop where Sarah is held hostage. Using Memphis as a decoy, Swagger eliminates Johnson's snipers and rescues Sarah. Sarah kills Payne, Johnson's enforcer, during the fight. Meachum hints at a larger network of corrupt politicians. Knowing the confession will not suffice to bring them down, Swagger destroys the evidence before surrendering to the FBI. Later, Swagger meets U.S. Attorney General Russert and demonstrates his innocence by revealing his rifles are modified to be non-operational when unattended. Memphis provides documentation of Johnson's crimes, exonerating Swagger. However, Johnson evades prosecution due to jurisdictional issues. Russert subtly suggests extrajudicial measures might be necessary to stop Johnson's corruption.
