While wildebeest are known for synchronized birthing – (having their babies at roughly the same time) topi antelope seem to also do that at times in the Maasai Mara. While we were there in October staying at Tangulia, with Jackson Looseyia as our guide, he found us this group of topi females who were giving (or had given) birth in a fairly short period of time (often at mid day when there are less predators). There were at least a dozen babies in this field and we watched one of the females as she gave birth to yet another one. Right behind this newborn is another one that is only slightly older.
