Now she is living in middle part of Myanmar. Her father is an alcoholic and neglects family duties. She suffered from a food shortage in her younger years. At the age of nine, she started as child labor. Now she is thirteen and a herd of goats. Ma Aye Kaung wants to read and write. Though primary education is free she had no chance of schooling. During 23 years under the military government, there were hundreds of thousands of girls like Ma Aye Kaung.
