According to reports, the altercation began over the removal of a vegetable vendor’s cart. During the dispute, an employee of the electricity department allegedly opened fire indiscriminately. A young man standing near the cart was shot in the leg, while two other passersby were caught in the crossfire — one was seriously injured and the other died on the spot. The incident caused panic in the area, which was soon cordoned off by the police. Police arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation. Authorities assured the family that strict action will be taken against those responsible and justice will be served. The victim’s family held a protest on Majitha Road, demanding compensation and immediate action. They claimed this was a clear case of government negligence and unwarranted violence.
