Yesterday (25th Jan) marked the traditional trip to the Great Central for there annual Winter Gala Event. With an excellent forecast and visitors featuring 6880 Betton Grange, GWR 2-8-0 3850 & 6695 out on the line. A trip had to be made for the first event of the year. With an intensive timetable there’s never a chance to get bored and I missed one or two workings I wanted due to changing locations. But with all the visitors featured at least twice, including home fleet locos Standard 5 73156 and Austerity 68067 it turned out to be a good day in excellent conditions.
