Cannibal Holocaust is a 1980's horror film that has an interesting history to say the least. For one, it got it's director arrested due to it's depictions of animal brutality and mistaking staged deaths to be real among many other things. It's regarded by many as one of the most explicit horror films ever made, even being banned in countless countries across the globe. But in recent years it's gained quite the cult following and I'm here to understand why it got it's reputation as well as whether or not it deserves it.
