Journey onboard 387213 working 1U31 1252 Ore to Brighton calling at Hastings, St Leonards Warrior Square, Bexhill, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, Polegate, Lewes, Falmer and Brighton. A Southern service formed of Gatwick Express coaches. Despite the lack of announcements until after St Leonards Warrior Square, I still managed to stay quiet for most of the journey, that was suggested by @gavinm.9154, although I sometimes like saying unit numbers where possible, especially if its on operators such as TL, SE, SN, GX, GN, LM, ME, XR, LO and HX that don't have Know Your Train enabled on RealTimeTrains yet. Like all other Electrostars, the 387s have the BTROS (Whiteleys) system and guard panels at the "C" and "F" doors. The "C" doors have a CCTV monitor but no dim lights button while the "F" doors have a dim lights button but no CCTV monitor, although the panels on the 387s do not have CCTV monitors unlike the 375s and 377s. The "B" and "G" doors do not have any panels. The only Electrostars that do not have any saloon panels are the 357s and 376s which means that if the 357s and 376s ever had guards onboard, the guard would only be allowed to work in the cab. Thankfully none of the Electrostars have been downgraded to the dreaded TrainFX system that the 313s had! @rossmarks7856 is interested in subtitles so I've added them to this video. Short platforms on the East Coastway route between Brighton and Ore (377s and 387s only): Hampden Park and Falmer both fit 8 coaches. West of Eastbourne: Front 4 coaches - Moulsecoomb Front 6 coaches - London Road (Brighton) and Glynde Front 7 coaches - Berwick (Sussex) East of Eastbourne (excluding Marshlink stations): Front 3 coaches - Pevensey Bay and Normans Bay Front 4 coaches - Collington Front 5 coaches - Pevensey & Westham and Ore Front 6 coaches - Cooden Beach At Lewes, Platforms 1 and 2 fully fit 12 coaches while Platforms 4 and 5 only fit 7 coaches. Platform 3 only fits 6 coaches. At Brighton, Platform 3 only fits 4 coaches for West Coastway services but fully fits 12 coaches for Brighton Mainline and East Coastway services. The other platforms at Brighton, including Platforms 1 and 2 fully fit 12 coaches as well! 0:00 - Ore (START) - Change for Southern services to Rye and Ashford 0:45 - Doors opening as 387213 arrived as 5U30 from Ore Up Siding 2:47 - Ore departure 6:00 - Hastings arrival 6:57 - Hastings departure 9:39 - St Leonards Warrior Square - Change for Southeastern services to London via Tunbridge Wells 11:54 - St Leonards Warrior Square departure 18:09 - Bexhill arrival 19:06 - Bexhill departure 20:22 - Collington (not stopping) 21:36 - Cooden Beach (not stopping) 23:04 - Normans Bay (not stopping) 24:54 - Pevensey Bay (not stopping) 25:33 - Pevensey & Westham (not stopping) 29:58 - Hampden Park arrival 30:48 - Hampden Park departure 35:07 - Eastbourne arrival 38:15 - As the train changes direction at Eastbourne, the start of journey announcement plays which is nice as it didn't play at Ore 41:07 - Eastbourne departure 44:25 - Hampden Park (not stopping) 48:15 - Polegate arrival 48:47 - Polegate departure 53:25 - Berwick (Sussex) (not stopping) 57:08 - Glynde (not stopping) 1:01:37 - Lewes - Change for Southern services to Haywards Heath, Gatwick Airport ✈️ and Seaford 1:02:49 - Lewes departure 1:09:09 - Falmer arrival 1:09:53 - Falmer departure 1:12:11 - Moulsecoomb (not stopping) 1:13:58 - London Road (Brighton) (not stopping) 1:21:17 - Brighton (END) - Change for Southern and Thameslink services to Gatwick and Luton Airports ✈️, London, Bedford, Cambridge, Littlehampton, Portsmouth and Southampton
