Welcome back to a new episode of *Sailing Miss C* ⛵ In this episode, we take you along into what life aboard a sailboat is really like. One day you’re floating on a pink cloud, enjoying freedom, nature, and breathtaking views. The next, you’re facing fears that make you wonder if you should ever have started this adventure at all. We continue exploring the magical island of Zakynthos, with a few must-see spots on the west coast still on our list. But time is against us… The weather forecast takes a turn for the worse, and multiple alerts on our phones suggest this storm could be serious. With strong winds expected from the south, we search for shelter on the northern side of the island. We arrive just in time, and at first, it doesn’t seem too bad. But appearances can be deceiving… In the middle of the night, we are jolted awake by the harbormaster, who tries to warn us by blasting his car horn. We are right in the heart of the storm. Our anchor starts dragging, and suddenly our hull is scraping along the quay wall. With a surge of adrenaline and a lot of tension, we manage to get off the lee shore — but not without damage. Thankfully, the damage is purely cosmetic and no one is injured. After this intense and frightening experience, we shake off the fear and continue our journey. Still, this night leaves its mark… Our confidence has taken a hit, and this is an experience we will carry with us for a long time.
