This pictorial video documents the of German submarine Type VII C/41 by Revell in 1/350 scale. This kit is fairly small and delicate and is not intended to be built by beginners as it contains small parts, and the use of tweezers and other modelling tools is required to complete the build successfully. Once complete, the kit looks presentable and contains a fair amount of detail. However, care must be taken when spray-painting as the paint can conceal some surface detail. This kit may be rigged, but I decided to omit the rigging as it is unlikely that it will be visible at such a small scale. The most difficult part of this build was installing the railings on the conning tower and the propulsion system (vertical and horizontal rudders). I also decided against placing the flag on the pole mounted on one of the railings as it is not historically accurate, but I might install it in the future by using aftermarket decals. This kit may be modified by using photoetched parts, but I currently consider myself a beginner in the hobby after more than a decade of being absent from the hobby, and I hope that I will be able to demonstrate good builds in the future. There are also 2 versions that you can build out of this kit (U 998 and U 1004). I decided to go for the U 998 version.
