These "Top 10 Pokemon..." videos are a series of videos dedicated to the talented composers at Game Freak. The main thing I wanted to do with these videos is compare the composers (Who's your favorite one?), see similarities between them, show how much Pokemon music has evolved/improved over the years, and have an easy way to listen to my favorite tunes from these games. The Queen of Pokemon music has arrived! ...And yes, she gets to be the Queen because she was the first female composer at Game Freak...And no other female composer at Game Freak has Dithroned her...(Yet lol). Hitomi Sato is Morikazu Aoki's replacement after he quit when Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire were completed. According to interviews, that was the only reason Sato was able to become a composer at Game Freak, so I'd say Aoki quitting is the best thing to ever happen to Pokemon music!!! ...Just kidding...kinda. Honestly though, I do think Sato is the better composer, and I'm glad we ended up with a good replacement. Sato actually did arrangements for Pokemon Emerald before her main debut in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, but they were only meh arrangements of a few meh songs Aoki composed for Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, so I didn't make a video about them. Also is it me or does Sato's composition style seem similar to Go Ichinose's style of composing? I even thought that "Great Marsh" was an Ichinose song before I found out otherwise. And like Ichinose, she's a great Jazz composer; which could be the reason why she was chosen to be apart of this game...Or it could be because "Route 209" was the first song she composed for Diamond/Pearl, and how can you say no to that? 10.
