EPIC: The Musical~God Games (Sonic Style)

Oh man, if you guys have not checked out EPIC: The Musical soundtrack, you totally should! I read over The Odyssey in college mythology class, and found it very cool. Now we get to learn more through songs! Look, forget Romeo and Juliet, this is the real true love story! And they actually live! These have really resparked my inspiration, and I plan on doing a few more in the future! Now let's get on with the cast! I went with Sonic characters, specifically the comics for two reasons. One, there's a larger cast. Two, it takes up less space in my laptop. It's old, not a lot of storage, and am considering a PC so I can do more videos. back on topic! SALLY AS ATHENA. For those unfamiliar with her, yes they are the same character even though they have very different designs. Her with just a vest is her OG look back in the 90s, and the other is her modern design to fit better in Sonic's world. Early Archie Comics were a weird time. ANYWAY, most people tend to use Blaze the Cat for Athena in their animatics, but I think Sally is a little more fitting. She is a tactician and strategist. And while Sally was the main love interest to Sonic in Archie, the two often butted heads due to their different views on how to handle situations. This fitted well with the fallout Athena and Odysseus had KING MAX/GAIA COLOSSUS AS ZEUS. This was one of the ones I was unsure about. Yeah, he's a king and Sally's father, but he doesn't have the same empowerment and fear that Zeus does. I wanted to use a more godlike being, but there aren't a lot in the comics that have the same vibe as in games. Then I remembered what ‪@asteriartful‬ did with Poseidon, and combined two characters. (PS, check out the channel. The art is amazing!) So Max is a neutral form, and the Gaia Colossus is his godly state. I had to throw in some of his anti-counterpart since thew dude is evil. VECTOR AS APOLLO. Another one I really struggle with. Initially, I had Monkey Khan here, but again, unless you read Archie, you're not going to know the guy. I picked him because he was based on Sun Wukong. After a lot of searching, I went with Vector. Still not very satisfied with this choice, bus since the verse is about the sirens and music, and Vector is a known lover of tunes. Not the best choice, but it works for this. ROTOR AS HEPHAESTUS. I really don't know much about Hephaestus, but I could tell from the music choice and sounds he was a blacksmith. Since Rotor is a mechanic, and we don't have too many of those in Sonic outside of Tails, he was the best choice. I had considered some characters in IDW Sonic, but again, they're not as well known. ROUGE AS APHRODITE. This was one of the first obvious choices. Rouge is that one character that everyone in the fandom swoons for. And her heart motif fits well for Aphrodite being the Goddess of Love and Beauty. SHADOW AS ARES. I mean, come on. This was way too fitting. Dude lives it up on the battlefield. Also, I realize that I made the Shadouge shippers happy with this one since Ares is Aphrodite's lover. BREEZIE AS HERA. This one just clicked instantly for me. She's not a well known character, but her personality fits so well with Hera's song. So there! And I have to thank my friend ‪@EbettoVods‬ for the Telemachus edit! The design is no that original, but it was only for one picture. Most of the though process was on his clothing choice rather than physical design.
