In the second half of the ceremony, Nishikawa's son, Daniel Choi, took the stage and gave a speech on behalf of the family. Daniel concluded by saying, "Our family has been supported by so many brothers and sisters, and I feel I am the most blessed son in the world. I have come here today because I want to honor you all more than I honor my own father. I believe that is the best testimony I can give to my father. I am truly grateful to you all." Afterwards, there was a time for flowers and prayer, and participants, including Mrs. Shin Mi-sik, offered prayers for Nishikawa's departure to the eternal world.
