In this video, Professor Reinoud Knops presents the initial results from the PRAETORIAN DFT trial, a prospective validation of the PRAETORIAN score. The objective of the PRAETORIAN DFT trial is to demonstrate that implanting the EMBLEM™ S-ICD (Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator) without performing DFT is non-inferior to performing DFT, when the implant position is confirmed with the PRAETORIAN score. Professor Knops presents three key factors in his analysis of the PRAETORIAN score: The amount of tissue between the S-ICD coil and sternum, the S-ICD device position, and the amount of tissue between the device and chest wall. The results showed that a low PRAETORIAN score (less than 90) was 99% predictive of DFT success. Safety info: https://bit.ly/3kxVIzq ©2025 Boston Scientific Corporation or its affiliates.
