A Quiet Place for Broken Satellites is my newest dark ambient prog rock album about distance – from others, from yourself, from the version of life you once imagined becoming. Part I opens into "Distant Vistas", where everything feels far away yet strangely calm. You can see possibilities on the horizon – paths once desired, futures once believed in – now softened by time. There is motion here, steady and reflective, as if moving forward without needing certainty. "Debris" sits at the heart of the record. It’s about the versions of yourself that never fully arrived – the person you thought you’d be, the lives you rehearsed in your head, the dreams that shaped you even though they didn’t stay. These aren’t failures or regrets, but remnants that still matter. Pieces of identity drifting quietly, still carrying weight, still part of the signal. Part I closes with "A Quiet Place for Broken Satellites", not as an ending, but as acceptance. It offers the idea that feeling broken doesn’t mean being disconnected. Some satellites are damaged, some are off-course, but they continue to transmit. They still have purpose simply by staying alive in motion. Part II is an analog ambient session designed for focus, calm, and deep mental escape. For yourself. This record is about allowing yourself to be unfinished. About accepting who you are, not in spite of what didn’t happen, but because of it. Keep signaling. Even fragmented signals can be received. Caught In Joy is playing Moog One, Moog Model D, Moog Matriarch, Moog Messenger, Sequential Prophet-10, Fender Telecaster and a Jazzmaster, MPC Live 3, Key37 and modular synths. Recorded on two TEAC 80-8 tape machines. Mixed on two TEAC Model 5 from the 70s.
